How do I set who receives alert emails?
Alert email recipients are set on each alert rule, not on your personal profile. Go to Alerts → Alert Rules, edit a rule, turn on Email Notifications, and add the addresses that should be emailed when that rule fires. The Settings → Notifications page explains this and links you straight there.
Before you start: Admin or owner role (to edit rules).
Steps
- Go to Settings → Notifications — it confirms that recipients are configured per rule, with a Go to Alert Rules button.
- Click Go to Alert Rules (or open Alerts → Alert Rules directly).
- Edit the rule you want, turn on Email Notifications, and add recipient addresses with Add Email. Optionally enable Slack Notifications.
- Save the rule.
What happens next
When that rule fires, everyone you listed is emailed (and Slacked, if enabled). Each rule has its own recipient list, so you can route different alerts to different people.
How it works
There are no per-user notification preferences yet — recipients live on the rules themselves. To stop receiving a particular alert, edit that rule's recipient list. See How do I create or edit an alert rule?.
